31st March 2026: Liam Campbell Obituary
It is with great regret that we have learnt of the death of Liam Campbell. Campbell authored our 2011 volume, The Ecological Augury in the Works of JRR Tolkien.
An obituary to Liam Campbell was published by Derry Now. He passed away in December 2021.

16th March 2026: Remembering J.S. Ryan
J.S. Ryan, scholar, and student under J.R.R. Tolkien at Merton College, passed away in July 2022.
An obituary by Elizabeth Hale was published in VII: Journal of the Marion E. Wade Center, Vol. 41 (2025), pp. 5-6 (available as pdf here).

26th February 2026: New book - Arda Notebooks, The Best of I Quaderni di Arda
Arda Notebooks, The Best of I Quaderni di Arda edited by Roberto Arduini, Claudio A. Testi and Wu Ming, is now published.
This volume brings together a selection of articles published in the first three issues of Quaderni di Arda: Rivista di studi tolkieniani e mondi fantastici, edited by the Italian Association of Tolkienian Studies (AIST – Associazione Italiana Studi Tolkieniani). Its editorial board consists of independent and self-taught scholars from various professional backgrounds and the creation of Quaderni di Arda marks the culmination of nearly two decades of work that has revitalized Tolkien studies in Italy, positioning itself as a crossroads between the academic world and fandom.

22nd February 2026: Tolkien Conference Switzerland 14.3.26
Walking Tree Publsihers are pleased to announce their participation in the upcoming Tolkien Conference Switzerland, to be held in Zurich, Switzerland on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
The second Tolkien Conference Switzerland, organized by the University of Zurich, the University of Lausanne, and Friedrich Schiller University Jena, will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, once again at the University of Zurich as a hybrid conference.
